Who we are
+63Kolektib is a community of volunteer Filipino theatre and performance enthusiasts, mainly OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) in the United Arab Emirates.
Having experienced firsthand the struggle and complexity of relocating in a new space for a pragmatic solution to survival vis-à-vis pursuing one’s passion for the arts, and understanding that many of us are in the same crux; brought us into coming together to open a creative space for theatre enthusiasts in the Emirates.
Why ‘+63Kolektib’?
‘+63’ is the area code for the Philippines; ‘kolektib’ is how one would say ‘collective’ with a Filipino accent.
We come from different parts of the Philippines, and while living in this foreign country, we navigate the world through our own histories and experiences from back home.
What we do
Born from a shared passion for storytelling, movement, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, the collective investigates and challenges narratives of displacement and belonging.
Through projects like Metro Diaries (2025) and full-length productions such as Pambansang Litanya ng mga Inang Wala sa Bayan (2018–2019) and Lola Basyang (2023), the collective explores the complexities of identity, migration, and home, using theatre as a canvas for social reflection and dialogue.
